PRINT & MEDIA DESIGN

wideranging work for print and media content

From standard print design to creative illustrations, I have produced reports, posters, zines, ads, custom printed cups, art installations and more.

"Working with Craig has been fantastic. He really got to the bottom of what we’re trying to communicate and who our audiences are. Craig was always willing to share his thinking with us, so we could understand what makes good design work and take this learning into our organisation for future reference." Becky - Head of Marketing at Life Cycle UK
"As a writer and publisher, I’d never been happy with the covers for my Luke Kelly crime novel series. So, when it came to the fourth book, I had Craig re-do the whole lot to give them a clearer, simpler look. He was easy, fast, patient and professional to work with and understood my design brief at once. I’m very pleased with the new look. I love Craig’s work and I think he’s done a great job on refreshing and revitalising the whole series." Graham - Author

Life Cycle UK
What started as a simple poster design for their in-prison bike workshop grew into a three-year creative partnership covering advertising, signage, social media, branding, reports, videos, and more. As a nonprofit with a tight budget, Life Cycle needed smart, sustainable design solutions. Working closely with Becky from Marketing, I developed an approach that maximised resources—creating editable templates in Canva, integrating custom vector work, and running hands-on workshops to up-skill staff.Beyond day-to-day design support, I made subtle but impactful improvements to their brand identity, such as developing graphics that better represented the diverse communities they serve and refining signage to increase foot traffic to their bike sales and service workshop. One of my proudest contributions was helping the marketing team demonstrate the potential value of a full rebrand to management.

Göttingen in Letters
In 2021, I received funding from Niedersachsen state to run a cultural project reimagining Göttingen’s landmarks through typography. Inspired by my city logos series—where architectural elements form letters (like the Louvre Pyramid as the "A" in Paris)—I invited residents to submit their own ideas for how local landmarks could spell “Göttingen.” Each week, I shared my interpretation of a letter on Instagram, selected a winning community submission, and built two full city logos featuring 18 custom vector illustrations of Göttingen’s past and present. The final designs were published in a 16-page booklet, now housed in the Göttingen City Archive.

Guess the book window display
When Göttingen’s hospital library wanted an eye-catching window display to draw in visitors, I proposed an interactive challenge: minimalist book covers that invite people to guess the novel they represent. I designed 16 covers using simple, symbolic imagery—enough to intrigue and engage passersby without giving the titles away. The answers? Library visitors could find them inside and enter the Literature Herbst competition. A successful project 3 years running.

Aesop's Fables
In 2022, I received funding from Niedersachsen Dreht Auf for a collaboration with illustrator Ruth Reiche (a.k.a. Kunst Nerd) to visually reinterpret six Aesop’s Fables. Each piece merges text and illustration, with typography playing an active role in storytelling. Sometimes, the text forms a shape; other times, the illustration interacts with the words to reinforce the moral of the tale. The collection explores themes of collaboration, teamwork, and leadership—timeless lessons, told in a fresh, modern way. All available as a fold-out zine or posters.
