Painting is not so different from design when you think about it, especially when working with clients on commission pieces. The process is somewhat similar; I talk to the clients about their needs and wishes, feedback my interpretation of their brief through images and keywords, then get to work. Towards the end there's the exciting and nerve-racking reveal and a chance for revisions. I get such a kick out of seeing past works in someone's home, it's like a little reunion.

My paintings are a little impressionistic with a sense of heightened reality and often colourful. I have travelled a lot and get a great sense of joy and stress relief being outdoors so it's no surprise that my favourite subjects to paint are landscapes, animals, water and nature in general. However I'm not afraid to experiment and push these themes into more contemporary directions using different paints, surfaces and techniques.
